Be Real Creative: A New Works Development Incubator
Be Real Creative is an incubator designed to amplify fresh and vital Black voices in playwriting. This initiative supports emerging writers by providing structured development, mentorship, and a platform to refine and showcase their work. The program nurtures the next generation of Black playwrights, ensuring that new stories reflecting the Black experience reach the stage. Through workshops, staged readings, and feedback sessions, Be Real Creative empowers artists to cultivate authentic and groundbreaking narratives.
Betty and Coretta
Kelly Jenrette was commissioned by Black Rebirth Collective to write a piece about two iconic women in American History. Her play is an unflenching look at the emotional lives of Betty Shabazz and Coretta Scott King. The play is scheduled for production in the summer of 2025.

Tai French is developing CLEAN, a comedy-drama set in a suburban town laundromat that doubles as a support group hub after hours. It is a magically real journey into community, honesty and self-love.
